On 1 April 2019 Forest Heath District Council and St Edmundsbury Borough Council will be replaced by a single district council called West Suffolk Council. It will entirely replace the borough and district councils but will continue to deliver the same services while finding improved ways of supporting communities, businesses and the local economy. Over the next few weeks you may notice changes to the website, forms, letters and emails as we prepare for the creation of the new council.
We are committed to promoting sustainability with our residents, communities and businesses. We are also taking action to improve our own performance where we consider that our actions have a direct impact on the local environment and community. We monitor and regularly report on our performance and you can see the latest report in our Environmental statement 2017-18
The councils also continue to work with other key organisations as part of the Suffolk Climate Change Partnership to deliver a comprehensive action plan to mitigate and adapt to climate change. More information about the Partnership's work is available via www.greensuffolk.org
